Deaths in Franciscan Communities

The Province is mourning the passing of an Immaculate Conception Province friar and several Franciscan sisters.

Three members of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia have died. Sr. Evelyn Cahill, OSF, 85, died on March 2, Sr. Trinita Balbach, OSF, 91, died on March 13 and Sr. Rosa Carmichael, OSF, 94, died March 1 – all at Assisi House in Aston, Pa.

Sr. Mary Raphael Conlon, FMSC, 90, a member of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters  of the Sacred Heart, died on March 3 in Peekskill, N.Y.

Fr. Richard Passeri, OFM, 96, a member of Immaculate Conception Province, died in South Boston on March 21. He was the oldest member of this province which, like Holy Name, is headquartered in New York City.
