Franciscan deaths

The Province is mourning the recent passing of several Franciscan friars and sisters.

Fr. Cletus Watson, TOR, 78, died on Jan. 28. He had been pastor of St. Mary, Our Lady of Grace Church, the parish in which St. Anthony Friary in St. Petersburg, Fla., is located.

Two friars from Assumption BVM Province have died: Br. Gregory Stasinski, OFM, 90, who died on Jan. 31 in Green Bay, Wis., and Fr. Blase Karas, OFM, 86, who died Feb. 15 in Milwaukee, Wis.

Sr. Marie Joseph Kerr, OSF, 87, a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, died on Feb. 7 in Aston, Pa.

Fr. Bernardine Hahn, OFM, 101, of Sacred Heart Province, died on Feb. 8, in St. Louis. He was a friar for 80 years and a priest for 74 years.

Sr. Sister M. Concilia Flaherty, OSF, 98, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, N.Y., died on Feb. 18.
