Franciscan deaths

Holy Name Province is mourning the deaths of seven friars and two Franciscan sisters.

Sr. Maria Luisa Teixeira, OSF, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, died on Oct. 17 in Brazil.

Sr. Daniel Marie McCarthy, OSF, 75, of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, died on Nov. 23 in Aston, Pa.

Two members of Sacred Heart Province have died – Fr. Mauro Hawickhorst, OFM, 86, on Nov. 12 at the friary of San Francisco in Santarém, Brazil, and Fr. Edwin Albers, OFM, 83, on Nov. 26 in St. Louis.

Br. William Spirk, OFM, 72, of Our Lady of Guadalupe Province, died Nov. 25 in Albuquerque.

Br. Juniper O’Connor, OFM, 65, of Immaculate Conception Province, died on Nov. 27 in Clearwater, Fla.

Two St. John the Baptist Province members have died: Br. Paul Walsman, OFM, on Nov. 13 and Fr. Don Miller, OFM, 72, on Dec. 12.

Br. Miguel Lozano, OFM, 91, of St. Barbara Province, died Dec. 3 in Stockton, Calif.

Fr. Emmanuel Sullivan, SA, a member of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, died Dec. 19 in Ringwood, N.J.
