During recent weeks, several Franciscans have passed to eternal life.
Immaculene Fook-Kong, OSF, 89, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, N.Y., died on Sept. 17 at St. Elizabeth Motherhouse in Allegany. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 22 at the motherhouse.
Sr. Mary Cecilia Keyser, OSC, 70, of the Monastery of St. Clare in Wappinger Falls, N.Y., died Sept. 25. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated there on Sept. 29.
Fr. Benedict Groeschel, CFR, 81, co-founder of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, died in Totowa, N.J., on Oct. 3, the vigil of the feast of St. Francis. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Oct. 10.
Sr. Ann Charles Maye, FMSC, 86, died on Oct. 8 in Peekskill, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Oct. 11 in the chapel of Mount St. Francis in Peekskill.
