Franciscan deaths

The Province is mourning the recent passing of seven friars and two Franciscan sisters.

Two members of Immaculate Conception Province have died: Fr. Lucius Mario Annese, OFM, 86, died Jan. 20 in Danvers, Mass., and Fr. Albert McMahon, OFM, 83, died on Feb. 8 in Albany, N.Y.

Sr. Maureen O’Leary, FSP, 80, died on Feb. 3 in White Plains, N.Y. She was a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Peace.

Four members of Sacred Heart Province have died — Fr. Sylvano Pera, OFM, 91, died on Feb. 6 in St. Louis, Mo., Fr. Richard Jeske, OFM, 85, died Feb. 13 in Manitowoc, Wis., Fr. Fred Schneide, OFM, 94, died on Feb. 17, and Fr. Robert Leonhardt, OFM, 91, on Feb. 18.

Fr. Gerry Phayer, OFM, 84, a member of the Province of Ireland, died in Galway on Feb. 8.

Sr. Angela Erhard, OSF, 92, a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, died on Feb. 9 at Assisi House in Aston, Pa.
