Communications Office Offers Newsletter Tips

Jocelyn Thomas Around the Province

The Province’s communications office, recognizing that many HNP Todayreaders probably enjoy reading the newsletter on paper, provides a reminder about how to print the complete publication.

With the newsletter open on the screen, scroll down to the end of “Upcoming Events” section. There, readers will see “Click here for a printable version of the newsletter.”

This feature allows readers to print the entire issue if they first click “Print this page” at the top right of the subsequent page. The number of pages varies from issue to issue. The phrase at the top of the initial newsletter page — Print this page — allows readers to print onlythe “ledes” or article introductions.

For easier reading on screen, readers can enlarge the type size used in the newsletter

A new distribution system for the newsletter will be launched this summer that will:

  • enable subscribers who currently have problems receiving the newsleter to successfully receive the e-mailed publications. We aim to solve the technical difficulties that many interested readers experience.
  • allow readers to easily subscribe and unsubscribe to HNP Today
  • enable HNP’s communications office to determine which articles are most read. This will help us gauge the types of topics that are of most interest to readers.

Back issues of HNP Today can be found in the publications section of the Province’s Web site. There visitors will also find The Anthonian magazine and Insight and Wisdom, a publication of the Vocation Office.

The next newsletter issue will be distributed before the standard Wednesday publication date. Contributors are asked to submit article drafts before Thursday May 31 for distribution on June 4.

Jocelyn is director of the communications office.
