Loudonville, N.Y.-Members of the Siena College Class of 1981 have announced a founding gift of over $50,000 for a new Father Kevin Mackin OFM Scholarship.
Kevin, a popular professor and active leader at Siena, said earlier this spring that he would step down at the end of his term May 31, 2007, after serving for 11 years as president of the college.
“We think honoring Fr. Kevin as he steps down from Siena’s presidency is an appropriate way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our graduation from Siena College,” said class representative William Redmond, Jr., at a reunion dinner June 3. “We hope other alumni and friends of Siena will join us in this effort.”
The scholarship will benefit eligible Siena College students based on need.
