Christmas Concert To Aid Franciscan Sisters

NEW YORK — The Province’s St. Francis of Assisi Church on West 31st Street here will host the “Musical Splendor of Christmas,” a concert by the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor Foundation, on Dec. 3.

According to Catholic New York, the newspaper of the Archdiocese of New York, the 7 p.m. concert will benefit the programs of the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor in Senegal, the Philippines, Brazil, Italy and the United States. Tenor Roberto Iarussi will be accompanied by a professional chamber orchestra conducted by his music director, Mark Giuliani, and will be joined by guest soprano Christina Holms on a variety of sacred arias and other Christmas favorites.

Tickets are $100. Patron tickets are available for $250 and include a pre-recital reception with Archbishop Celestino Migliore, Vatican nuncio to the United Nations and recent affiliate to the Province.
