Chapter Planning: Registration Forms Due Nov. 26

HNP Communications Friar News

NEW YORK — All Holy Name Province friars have been asked to register by Nov. 26 for the Province’s Crossroads 2011, the chapter being held Jan. 3 to 7 in Maryland. Information including driving directions was mailed last week to friars by Provincial Secretary Michael Harlan, OFM,a member of the Chapter Planning Committee.

The Nov. 3 issue of Crossroads 2011, the e-bulletin written by William Beaudin, OFM, chair of the HNP Chapter Planning Committee, included information about the penultimate meeting of the Chapter Planning Committee on Oct. 25, at which committee members finalized the schedule for the Chapter, tweaked the Chapter’s rules and procedures, and reviewed preliminary results from the fall fraternal gatherings, Bill said. The committee’s next meeting is Dec. 2.
Friars who would like to organize a discussion group to meet during the Chapter are asked to contact Bill so meeting space can be planned.
Because the Chapter is one day shorter than usual and is both a Chapter of Elections and a Chapter of Affairs, its schedule will be tight, Bill said. Several blocks of time have been left open for groups of friars to meet about topics of common interest. As of last week, the Ministry of the Word, the Communications Office, and Joseph Rozansky, OFM, of the General Curia’s Office for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation were planning to sponsor break-out sessions during the Chapter.
Lawrence Ford, OFM, of New York City, is coordinating transportation to and from the Chapter.

Details about other aspects of the gathering can be found on the HNP Extranet. A new section, identified by the Crossroads 2011 logo, can be clicked for information about the venue and to find issues of the e-bulletin.
