NEW YORK — An assortment of commemorations for the Oct. 4 feast of St. Francis has been scheduled for late September and early October around the Province. This year’s observances of the annual feast have added meaning due to the 800th anniversary of the founding of the Order.
At many locations — both within Holy Name Province as well as outside — commemorations of the Order’s patron will incorporate a celebration of the milestone and will extend over several days.

A St. Francis Day Celebraiton of Art & Music is planned for the Westerhoff Gallery in Metuchen, N.J., including the work of three ceramic artists. The event is from 3 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 4; the exhibit, at 8 Calvin Place, will continue through Oct. 29. Information is available at 732-906-4137.
