Capuchins Elect New General Minister

ROME – The general chapter of the Capuchins has elected Mauro Jöhri, OFM Cap, provincial of the Capuchin Swiss Province, as their new general minister.

Mauro, 59, is the successor of Canadian John Corriveau, OFM Cap, who has guided the order for 12 years.

The Capuchin general chapter has been meeting in Rome for a week. There are 174 capitulars representing 11,000 Capuchins worldwide.
