Author Who Runs Home for Abandoned Children in Haiti Writes About an Encounter Outside the Church on 31st Street That Transformed His Life

William (Jud) Weiksnar, OFM, shared an article that he came across in Notre Dame Magazine, the university’s campus publication, in which the author talks about an encounter with a homeless woman on the steps of St. Francis of Assisi Church on 31st Street in New York City. He says the experience of 30 years ago made him realize for the first time in his life, God was tangible. He writes: “I touched the life of a homeless woman, and God had touched me.”
