Assumption Province Marks Eighth Centenary

FRANKLIN, Wis. — The Assumption Province, with offices here, spent the last week of April celebrating the 800th anniversary of the founding of the Order. 

The celebration began on April 26 at Lourdes Friary. On April 28, the Queen of Peace friary celebrated, beginning at 7:30 a.m. 

The festivities continued on April 29 at 11 a.m. at the Assumption Friary, for a Mass and renewal of vows. St. Mary of the Angels Church and Friary was the host for the final celebration on April 29 at 7 p.m. 

The events were planned by Assumption Province’s 800th Anniversary Committee, which included friars Sergius Wroblewski, OFM, Edward Tlucek, OFM, Galen Osby, OFM, Nathan Jaskulski, OFM, and Randy Roberts, OFM, according to a report in Assumption’s April 25 Provincial Newsletter.
