ROME – A new film about Assisi titled Assisi Pilgrimage, Walking in Faith with Francis and Clare brings the experience of pilgrimage to viewers and includes contributions by Margaret Carney, OSF, president of St. Bonaventure University and a specialist in St. Clare.
The two-hour film, according to the March 1 issue of Fraternitas, allows the audience to hear the stories of pilgrims about the days they were in Assisi, and to virtually visit many places that pilgrims wish to visit in both Assisi and its surroundings. The film was written and directed by Greg Friedman, OFM.
Franciscan Pilgrimage guides, including author and poet Murray Bodo, OFM, and author Roch Niemier, OFM, and Sr. Margaret tell the stories of places and events in the lives of Francis and Clare that mark the pilgrim’s road. Music by Franciscan composer Robert Hutmacher adds a medieval flavor. Special features on the DVD include interactive maps, timelines, a detailed explanation of the symbolism in the Cross of San Damiano, and a pilgrim’s dramatization of Clare’s departure from wealth.
