Meet Our Leadership Team
Holy Name Province’s administrative offices, headed by Provincial Minister Fr. Kevin Mullen, OFM, are located in the heart of New York City. The Provincial Administration is responsible for the various facets of caring for our nearly 300 friars, the orchestration of our many ministries, and maintaining our relationships with the dioceses in which we live and work, as well as with the headquarters of the worldwide Order of Friars Minor in Rome.
The Provincial Council, pictured below, serves as the governing body of Holy Name Province. These friars are elected by their brothers to serve as part of the Provincial Administration. In laymen’s terms, the Provincial Minister serves as the president, the Provincial Vicar is equivalent to the vice president, and the Provincial Council is similar to a board of directors.

Provincial Offices
Communicating information to the members of the Province, its partners-in-ministry, and the public at large is the mission of the Communications Office.
By using electronic publishing methods as well as traditional print publications, the office keeps its constituents up-to-date on news of the Province’s ministries and people. HNP Today is read by both friars and the public.
In addition, the Communications Office manages HNP.org and serves as the Province’s contact point with external media.

As a “medicant order” without resources of their own, Franciscans have relied from the beginning on generous men and women whom St. Francis called “spiritual friends” to support their work.
Today, in Holy Name Province, the task of reaching out to people who wish to help serve others is the focus of the Development Office.
The Development Office staff reaches its constituents through a variety of digital media, print publications and live events. Its webpage offers information and accepts donations.

In 2000, the Holy Name Province created an Office for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation to help the Province and its ministries strengthen the quality and quantity of their JPIC programs. The Office takes its direction from the JPIC Directorate and the administration of Holy Name Province. In addition to province-wide initiatives and action, the Office and its staff assist individual Province ministries as their JPIC needs arise.

The Franciscan Vocation Ministry supports men who feel they may be called to live in fraternity as a Franciscan friar.
The Ministry provides information about the Order, as well as our admissions process and the initial formation program. It also provides on-going assistance with discernment to religious life, including hosting “Come and See” weekends for interested men, as well as Discernment Weekends for those who wish to explore our life during a retreat experience.
