Br. Wendelin Maier, OFM, was born on Jan. 5, 1888 in New York City. He received the habit in 1910 and professed his vows as a tertiary brother in 1911.

He died on Oct. 22, 1912 in New York City. Br. Wendelin was 24 years old, a professed Franciscan for 14 months.

Each of us should be called a lesser brother, a Friar Minor. Each one of us should wash the feet of the others.”
