Stanislaus Betz, OFM

1880 – 1909

Fr. Stanislaus Betz, OFM, was born on Dec. 4, 1880 in New York City. He was received into the novitiate in 1900 and professed temporary vows one year later. Fr. Stanislaus made his solemn profession in 1904 and was ordained in 1906.

During his brief Franciscan life, he served as pastor of Our Lady of the Holy Angels Parish, Little Falls, N.J. He died on March 18, 1909 in Paterson, N.J. Fr. Stanislaus was 28 years old, a professed friar for seven years and a priest for almost three years.

Each of us should be called a lesser brother, a Friar Minor. Each one of us should wash the feet of the others.”
