Remigius Harrington

Br. Remigius Harrington, OFM, was born on Sept. 21, 1887 within the confines of St. Bonaventure Parish, Paterson, N.J. He was the first student to graduate from St. Joseph’s Seraphic Seminary, Callicoon, N.Y. Br. Remigius entered the novitiate at St. Bonaventure Friary, Paterson, in 1906, professing temporary vows one year later. He made his solemn profession in 1911.

He died on Jan. 22, 1912 in New York City. Br. Remigius was 24 years old, a professed friar for five years.

Each of us should be called a lesser brother, a Friar Minor. Each one of us should wash the feet of the others.”
