Raymond Walsh, OFM

1876 – 1920
Fr. Raymond Walsh, OFM, was born on Aug. 3, 1876 in Boston. He was received into the Order at St. Bonaventure College and Seminary, Allegany, N.Y., on July 23, 1897 and professed temporary vows one year later. Fr. Raymond made his solemn profession in 1901 and, after three years of study in Rome, was ordained a priest in 1903.
While teaching at St. Joseph Seraphic Seminary, Callicoon, N.Y., he cared for the Province’s parish in Yulan, N.Y., and built St. Anthony Church there. Later, he served as pastor of Our Lady of the Angels Parish in Little Falls, N.J.
He died on Oct. 9, 1920 in New York City. Fr. Raymond was 44 years old, a professed friar for 22 years and a priest for 17 years.
