Br. Paul Burke, OFM was born in Hackensack, N.J., on April 16, 1904. He was received into the Province Nov. 12, 1925, made his temporary profession on Nov. 13, 1926, and professed solemn vows Nov. 13, 1929.

Br. Paul was a simple and hardworking friar who enjoyed working on the farm at St. Bonaventure College in Allegany, N.Y. He died in Allegany June 2, 1933. He was 29 years old and a professed friar for six years. He was the uncle of Bishop John Burke.

Each of us should be called a lesser brother, a Friar Minor. Each one of us should wash the feet of the others.”
