Br. Louis Coady, OFM, was born in New York City on Nov. 27, 1883. He entered the Province’s novitiate at St. Bonaventure Friary in Paterson, N.J., on Sept. 3, 1906, professed temporary vows Sept. 7, 1907, and professed solemn vows Oct. 15, 1910.

Br. Louis served in the friary kitchens of St. Anthony’s in Butler, N.J., and St. Joseph’s in Winsted, Conn., for his entire Franciscan life.

He died Aug. 16, 1922 in Butler. Br. Louis was 38 years old and a professed friar for almost 15 years.

Each of us should be called a lesser brother, a Friar Minor. Each one of us should wash the feet of the others.”
