Br. Fidelis Gessner, OFM, was born in St. Paul, Minn., on Oct. 7, 1908.

On March 14, 1934, he received the tertiary habit at St. Bonaventure Friary in Paterson, N.J.

He died five months later on Aug. 7, 1934, in Paterson. He was 25 years old.

Each of us should be called a lesser brother, a Friar Minor. Each one of us should wash the feet of the others.”
