Br. Colman O’Connor, OFM, was born Feb. 5, 1898 in Rochester, N.Y. He entered the novitiate at St. Bonaventure Friary, Paterson, N.J., in 1923 and professed temporary vows one year later. He made his solemn profession in 1927.

He died on Feb. 25, 1928 in Brooklyn, N.Y., while completing his theology studies. Br. Colman was 30 years old, a professed friar for four years.

Each of us should be called a lesser brother, a Friar Minor. Each one of us should wash the feet of the others.”
