Clement King, OFM

1915 – 1978
Fr. Clement King, OFM, was born Jan. 14, 1915 in Boston. He entered the novitiate at St. Bonaventure Friary, Paterson, N.J., in 1933 and professed temporary vows one year later. Fr. Clement made his solemn profession in 1937 and was ordained in 1940.
Except for a short teaching assignment at Siena College, Loudonville, N.Y., Fr. Clement’s years of ministry were primarily in parochial work in New York City, Paterson, Buffalo, N.Y., Wanaque, N.J., Brookline, Mass., and Winsted, Conn. He spent the final 18 years of his life as an auxiliary at the Paterson friary.
He died on April 24, 1978 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson, Fr. Clement was 63 years old, a professed friar for 43 years and a priest for 37 years.
