Bernard King, OFM

Br. Bernard King, OFM, was born in Bally Blunt, Ireland, on June 2, 1848. He was one of the pioneer Brothers of Allegany, N.Y.

He entered the novitiate in 1883 and professed his temporary vows the following year. Br. Bernard professed solemn vows in 1897.

He worked faithfully in Allegany, and cared for the dining room, until his death on Aug. 11, 1913. Br. Bernard was 65 years old and a professed friar for 28 years.

Each of us should be called a lesser brother, a Friar Minor. Each one of us should wash the feet of the others.”
