Aloysius Buschmann, OFM

1875 – 1927
Fr. Aloysius Buschmann, OFM, was born on Jan. 13, 1875 in Warendorf, Germany. He entered the novitiate in 1893, professing temporary vows one year later. He made his solemn profession in 1897 and was ordained a priest in 1903.
He served as pastor of St. Joseph’s Parish in East Rutherford, N.J., an assistant at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in New York City, and pastor of St. Mary’s Church in Obernburg, N.Y.
Fr. Aloysius died in Obernburg on Oct. 6, 1927. He was 52 years old, a professed friar for 33 years and a priest for 24 years.
