BOSTON — A farewell prayer service was held at Saint Anthony Shrine on Saturday for Robert Nee who relocated on Feb. 12 to Holy Name Friary in Ringwood, N.J.
Earlier this month, Bob received word that he would be transferring from Marian Manor in South Boston to Holy Name Friary in Ringwood. After all paperwork was completed and arrangements made, his transfer date was scheduled for Monday, Feb. 12.
On Saturday morning, Feb.10, arrangements were made to transport Bob to the shrine for a farewell prayer service and anointing. This was an opportunity for the friars from the shrine and Saint Anthony Residence to pray with Bob and wish him well.
David Convertino presided at the prayer service that included an anointing, and each friar came forward to lay hands and pray over Bob. The traditional “Blessing of Saint Francis” was sung and refreshments were served after the service.
