LITTLE FALLS, N.J.-Our Lady of Angels Church will sponsor one of its own parishioners in a special presentation titled “Spirituality in the Workplace: Practical Advice from a CEO and a Monk.” This event, sponsored by the parish’s JPIC committee, will begin at 7:30 p.m., Monday, May 22.
Kenny Moore is co-author of The CEO and the Monk: One Company’s Journey to Profit and Purpose. Reporting directly to the chairman and CEO, he is the corporate ombudsman and director of human resources at KeySpan Corporation, a multi-billion-dollar Fortune 500 New York City energy company.
Prior to his work in corporate America, Moore spent 15 years in a monastic community as a Catholic priest.
Find out what happens when a former monk teams up with the CEO of a New York City Fortune 500 company to help change its corporate culture and use spiritual principles to drive business results.
Moore’s presentation will focus less on theory and more on practical applications of spirituality as it relates to the world of work. Primary attention will be given to discussing how modern-day employees can live out their vocation in the marketplace and increase their chances of finding meaning, purpose, value and legacy, while earning a livelihood.
